These are some of the snacky/finger foods my 8 month old have enjoying, lately.
Whole Wheat Bread
Usually, I cut out the edges of the bread and let her eat the insides.
Gerber Whole Grain Snacks with Cheddar
Gerber Whole Grain Puffs Cereal
It says for crawlers…She is not crawling yet (close) but her sister still enjoys those so the baby has no problems joining in!
Here she is enjoying some puffs I laid out for her on a blanket on the floor.
Except the pretzels, all the foods are soft, so they kind of melts in her mouth after a while. She had no teeth yet. She sucks on the pretzels until they get kind of soft but she is not yet able to bite off big chunks. I have not begin to offer cheerios but maybe soon. Although, a few days ago she picked up a cheerio on the floor and popped it into her mouth. She ate it well, though, no gagging or nothing.
As for meals, she is mostly eating table foods (whatever the family eats). I make sure they are not too spicy and cut them up into very tiny pieces.
She has already began to realize that her pureed foods and my plate is quite different. So now she turns her face away when I am about to feed her pureed foods:) Our first daughter did the same when she was around this age, too.
If you are not sure what to feed your little one, you can always check with her pediatrician. At 7 months old, I had a concern that our little one seem to lost all interest in foods. Her pediatrician advised that she may be ready to move on to table foods. But she is just now getting into it, though. And certainly, if she was ready for table foods at 7 months, then she is definitely ready at 8 months!
BTW: She loves table foods!
