Some of you may notice that my posting is not as regular as it used to be. The reason is that I have been quite busy the past two weeks getting ready for school to start. My children are not in school, they are still very young but I am.
My previous educational degrees were completed at an un-accredited Christian college. This makes it very difficult to find a teaching position, even in some Christian schools.
Before we were blessed with those two beautiful girls, I started pursuing a Master’s degree in Elementary Ed. I was filling up my schedule with extra classes and aiming to finish within 2 and 1/2 years (this is a 4 year degree plan). At the time it was just hubby and I was not working so I had the time to do it. But then the children came and there is no way I could fulfill student teaching if kids are being born within the semester. With every licensed educational degree, some form of student teaching or onsite work at a school is required before graduation. Mine is 15 weeks (a full semester). I am working with 4th grade (love this grade level)!
Our youngest is now 8 months old and my 4 year plan is technically already up. However, upon request, the school graciously extended my plan until the end of this semester. This is the only class I have to do to complete this plan. So that is what’s been going on.
The kiddos are with a wonderful babysitter although it was tough and is still tough taking them there daily. But the Lord is good and He will see us through. I have been leaning on Psalm 18:1 – 2 and Psalm 121 throughout this time.
Do I intend to teach once I complete this degree. Well, not exactly. At least not right away. Having children of my own and being a stay-at-home mom is definitely beneficial. I cherish that very much! But I had come so far and invest a WHOLE bunch of money into it before we had children so I guess it is worth finishing. Moreover, hubby desires for me to do this:)
As far as postings for this blog, I hope to still do some. Maybe not daily, but at least consistently 2 0r 3 times a week. More, if I get the time.
